So, this is apparently the costume we would have been saddled with if Matt Smith hadn't quite rightly felt like a prize cunt in it. Thank god for that, as his choice of bow tie, boots and braces seems much more 'Doctorish'.

Zappa, in answer to being asked why he stopped writing 'classical' type pieces:

'The single most useless thing an American can do is write music. Unless you're writing a song to be a hit record or writing a jingle for a product, there's no reason for anybody in America to write music. It's useless. My original impetus for creating this blog was that I've recently found myself posting quotes by Frank Zappa on my Facebook profile on a (sometimes twice) daily basis, and I thought I'd better get me one of those fancy blog doohickeys to air my personal peccadillos (Have YOU ever tried airing a peccadillo?) without necessarily shoving it in people's faces...

Anyhoo, I seem to have run out of Zappa quotes for the moment, and I'm not sure what form this blog is going to take. I just know I wanted one.

Stay tuned, who knows, one day I might have another idea. I thought I had one the other day, but it was just wind.
